Inaugurata una nuova scuola a Bala Baluk
A third-grader at Kohak School in Bala Baluk reads to his class. Representatives from the Farah ministry of education, local village elders and the International Security Assistance Force participated in a ceremony to inaugurate the school Nov. 13. The Italian Task Force South and Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah funded the four-month, $125,000 project. Afghan contractors built the school while the local government and PRT engineers provided oversight and quality assurance of the project. With a staff of three teachers, the school can accommodate more than 200 students in smaller group sessions throughout the day. The curriculum includes Pashto literacy, math, drawing and sports.
